I have been shopping online for a while now. Now, most of the things in my home comes through online shopping. I hardly walk into a mall or a shop for buying an item.

After shopping online for months, I have come to realize COD or cash on delivery is the best option when it comes to paying money for a product you buy.
I have tried virtually all the other payment methods like credit card, debit card, net banking, check, Demand draft etc. However, none of them worked out better for me except the Cash on Delivery or simply COD.

First great thing about COD is trust. You can trust the company because you are paying after your receive the product at your doorstep.
All the major online shopping websites in India like Flipkart, Jabong, Myntra etc offer you cash on delivery which is very good.
I always order products from these websites on COD. It is very safe and there is no question of any fraud or loss of your money.
2) Transaction is Hassle Free
Next great thing about it is transaction is very hassle free. You just have to give cash and take your product.
You do not have to worry about pulling your credit card out or going to a bank and depositing cash. If you pay using your credit card and forget to pay your credit card payment on time then bank may charge a heavy late fee.
You pay only when you receive the product at your doorstep. This makes COD option the best one compared to others.

3) Safety from Frauds
Online shopping could be very dangerous because when you pay online through your credit card you become susceptible to credit card fraud. There is equal risk in net banking.
You need to be very careful while using your credit card or net banking online. However, with COD you don’t have to bother about credit cards.
Hence, COD is very safe and you are not going to lose your money as a result of credit card theft.
4) Return the Product and Get Money Back
Many sites allow you to open the courier and check your product. So if you check and don’t like a product then you could return the product and get your money back the very moment you bought the product.
This makes COD really great compared to other paying methods. I did many times. Whenever, I don’t like the product I refuse take and they don’t say anything.
5) Cheaper Rates
Cash on delivery transaction methods is very cheap. Most of the online shopping companies in India like Flipkart do not charge any extra money.
Shipping charges are free. Hence you pay for the product only. However, if you had to pay by other means like credit card transaction or Demand Draft then there is extra charge to pay.
However, in COD there is no extra charge.
So these were some of the advantages of cash on delivery method. If you are shopping online then always go for it.
