When I was in college I always wanted two things. First one is moving out of my parent’s home as quick as possible and secondly, a new iPhone?
However, I really didn’t have any money to get these two things.
So I started looking out for ways that can make me some extra money while I was in college.
After some research I found out several legit online jobs that can easily pay me anything between $1000 and $5000 a month.
However I chose some of the best online jobs among them that can be done on the part time basis without affecting my college.

After working on all the legit online jobs, I have selected some which is best suitable for college students. These online jobs that eventually helped me making some cash, more than sufficient for a college student.
1) Online Survey Job for College Students
There is no better online job for college students than paid online surveys. When I was in college, I was making around $300 to $500 by just completing online surveys.

This was my preferred online job when I was a college student. I used to earn $200 to $300 working just 30 minutes on ad clicking jobs. You just have to signup with some of the best online ad clicking job sites.
Your task will be, logging into various Paid to Click sites (PTC), then clicking and reading ads for just 5-20 seconds each. You will get paid 1 to 2 cents for each you had clicked.
Apart from clicking ads, you can find a number of other short tasks that can be completed and more money is made.
3) Blogging
Although I started blogging after finishing my college but thereafter I continued blogging for many years to come and finally started making an excellent income from it.
Hence, I am recommending this online job to every college student.
This particular online job can give you way more money than above mentioned 2 online jobs combined.
All you need to do is create a blog (that’s really easy, oh yes, I mean it), write some interesting stuff (anything passionate, related to hobby or even day to day experience), do some basic promotion (basic SEO, social media promotion etc.) and start earning some cool income.
It’s real easy to make $500 to $2000 working just 2 hours daily on your blog.
4) Article Writing
If blogging is not your cup of tea then stick to article writing. You can become a freelance writer writing for your clients.
Job Profile: Although there are different types of freelance writing jobs like
- Web content writing
- Ghost writing
- Technical writing
- Business writing
- Copywriting
- Newspaper writing etc.
But the best are the first two jobs in the above list. You can write for websites as a web content writer.
Required Skill Sets: Basic writing skills in English without any grammar and spelling mistakes. Don’t worry because you don’t have to write like NYT or WSJ columnists.
Earning Potential: For 1000 words long article you can earn $10 to $25.

5) Become a YouTuber

Ouch! You really don’t have to create any professional videos to make money from YouTube.
You can just create few simple humorous videos like shooting your college life, experiences in bars, restaurants, malls, streets or anywhere else. It’s easy to earn minimum $500+ a month as a part time YouTuber.
Just close your eyes for 10 minutes and think all the possible ideas that you can use to create interesting videos. Write down in a notepad and start recording videos on a regular basis.
How to Start: Upload your videos on YouTube, become a YouTube partner and start receiving regular payments from Google. YouTube will show ads on your videos & you earn from each & every view.
6) Amazon Mechanical Turk
mTurk or Amazon Mechanical Turk (an Amazon company) is one of the best online jobs for college students. I personally know many students who are making enough money by doing some simple tasks on mTurk.
When you visit mTurk, you will find millions of short tasks that you can complete in just 1 to 5 minutes each. You can make 1 cent to 1 dollar for completing each task.
You can work 30 minutes to 2 hours a day as per your time availability. More you work, more you earn on mTurk.
